ABSTRACT

With the growth of number of Chinese patent medicines and clinical use, the rational use of Chinese medicine is becoming more and more serious. Due to the complexity of Chinese medicine theory and the uncertainty of clinical application, the prescription review of Chinese patent medicine always relied on experience in their respective, leading to the uncontrolled of clinical rational use. According to the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory and characteristics of the unique clinical therapeutics, based on the practice experience and expertise comments, our paper formed the expert consensus on the prescription review of Chinese traditional patent medicine for promoting the rational use of drugs in Beijing. The objective, methods and key points of prescription review of Chinese patent medicine, were included in this expert consensus, in order to regulate the behavior of prescription and promote rational drug use.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the clinical curative effect of syndrome differentiation-based treatment with traditional Chinese medicine on patient with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD3-4). Method According to prospective multicenter randomized controlled study which was applied to the patients with CKD3-4 , the total of 339 patients were divided into two groups. To one group as standard including 167 patients ,the other including 172 patients. Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine single or combined-prescription oral treatment according to syndrome differentiation-based treatment was employed. To the other group as reference , Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine oral treatment according to experienced rule was applied. The clinical curative effect results were obtained after a 24 weeks-treatment. Result The Scr ,eGFR and UTP with CKD3 in standard group illustrate statistics significance (P 0.05). The clinical curative effect result of patient in standard group was better than that of reference group. About the clinical curative effect of CKD4, no statistics significance difference (P > 0.05) could be found between groups or between patients in one group. The TCM score of patient with CKD3-4 in standard group have improved (P 0.05). Conclusion Syndrome differentiation-based treatment with traditional Chinese medicine illustrated a better result in protection of renal function, reduction in urinary protein and decline in TCM score than the treatment according to experienced rule.

ABSTRACT

In order to analyze main influencing factors of exportation of Chinese traditional patent medicines to the EU and measure the potentialities, the panel data of the exportation of Chinese traditional patent medicines to 13 countries in the EU over the period from 2000 to 2011 were used to build a regression model. Then, this model was applied to estimate the export potentialities. The results showed that the GDPs of China and EU countries, the export prices of Chinese traditional patent medicines, the port capacities of EU countries and maritime distances between ports of two countries notably promote export trade. At the same time, unified standards of pesticide residue analysis are associated with reducing the volume of export trade. EU countries can be divided into two groups. One is the group with certain potentiality. The other is the group without ready potentiality. Suggestions were made on basis of research results in order to promote exportation of Chinese traditional patent medicines to the EU.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To establish a method for determination of 30 antihypertensive medicines adulterated in traditional Chinese patent medicines and health foods by UPLC triple-quadrupole tandem mass spectrometer. METHODS: Multi-reactions monitoring (MRM) technology was used. The separation was performed on a Waters ACQUTTY UPLC™ BEHC18 column with a gradient mobile phase of methanol - 0.1% formic acid at flow rate of 0.2 mL · min-1. The ionization mode was ESI+. RESULTS: The standard curves of the 30 chemical medicines showed good linearity over the concentration ranges of 10 - 1000.0, 0 - 400.0 and 2.0 - 400.0 μg · L-1 (r = 0.9903-0.9998). The detection limits of the 30 chemical medicines were between 0.01 - 0.83 μg · L-1 and the average recoveries were 72.2% - 123.4% at 3 levels. CONCLUSION: The method is rapid and sensitive, and suitable for the determination of 30 chemical medicines in traditional Chinese patent medicines and health foods. ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To promote the standardization of the packing inserts of Chinese traditional patent medicine in the writing and printing. METHODS: A total of 106 package inserts of 5 common dosage forms of Chinese traditional patent medicine analyzed in accordance with the national standard. RESULTS: Problems were found in most of the package inserts of Chinese traditional patent medicine, which manifested as chaotic ranking of essential components, non-standard stating of actions and indications, unclear stating about dosage and administration, nonobjective in the labeling of adverse drug reactions, confusion between contraindication and precautions, lacking of research document on drug interactions, pharmacology & toxicology and pharmacokinetics. CONCLUSION:The drug surveilance agency should attach importance to and tighten control on the nonstandard writing and printing of packing inserts of Chinese traditional patent medicine.
